The 1st International Workshop on Internet of Things and Smart Systems
Internet of Things (IoT) is a wide and rapidly developing area with expected strong and growing implications for Energy and Agriculture. Experts estimate that the IoT will consist of almost 50 billion objects by 2020. The IoT allows objects to be sensed and controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefits. It enables new and efficient ways to operate production plants, create new services or supervision means for Energy installations, offer an optimized infrastructure, reduce operational cost or improve human safety.
The IoTSS for energy and agriculture workshop dedicates the current issues of agriculture and energy related to IoT, and tries to stress the future directions of technical and business development of smart agriculture and energy.
Topics :
This workshop aims at providing a forum for academic researchers and industry to present early research outcomes that present an added value to the state of the art of IoT; with a particular focus on IoT for agriculture and energy.
